In October 2004, Zwitserleven and De Goudse reached an agreement under which De Goudse will offload its entire group life insurance portfolio to Zwitserleven. Taking on the portfolio will reinforce Zwitserleven's already solid position with corporate clients. The takeover requires the approval of the Dutch supervisory authorities and the Netherlands Competition Authority.

Zwitserleven also announced the takeover as of January 1, 2005, of the portfolio of the Dutch central bank (DNB)'s insurance fund for civil servants. The fund, or Verzekeringsfonds, was founded in 1886 and oversees EURO 72 million in insured capital, mainly in life insurance policies. This acquisition was necessary due to increasingly strict solvability and financial reporting rules stipulated in the new IFRS accounting standard. The move requires the approval of the DNB, which is also the pensions supervisory authority.

The Swiss Life Network congratulates Zwitserleven on these developments.
