Veritas celebrated its 100 years of business in 2005 by donating a memorial to The City of Turku. The head office of the hundred-year-old Veritas Group is situated in a historical place. At the same place on the Kaskenmäki Hill situated the Dominican convent of St. Olof in the Middle Ages. The Black Friars worked in Turku in the years 1249-1536. The scholar friars traveled around preaching in popular speech and brought thus civilization amongst plain people.

Veritas, who is known as a patron of culture and sports, donated The Dominicans in Turku Memorial to The City of Turku in its jubilee year. The memorial is in honor of the Dominicans as well as the Finnish cultural heritage.

The Dominicans in Turku Memorial is designed by the Turku born artist Kimmo Ojaniemi. The memorial is situated in front of Veritas’ head office in the Olavinpuisto Park in Turku.
