The Board of Trustees is made up of seven members – four from the Swiss Life Group and three from the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences. The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Bruno Gehrig, is the Foundation’s President. The start-up capital is CHF 1 million and has been increased several times since 1957.

In 2005, the Board of Trustees granted 14 requests for contributions, giving a total amount of CHF 256,000 to medical research. More detailed information about this is available in the Annual Report of the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences (pp.34-36 of German version [report available in German and French only]).
