Banque Cantonale Vaudoise announces 3.92% sale positions and 2.33% purchase positions in Swiss Life

Publication according to Art. 21 of the Stock Exchange Act and Art. 19 of the Ordinance of the Federal Banking Commission on the Stock Exchange Act by Swiss Life Holding, General-Guisan-Quai 40, P. O. Box, CH-8022 Zurich, Switzerland

With regard to Art. 20 of the Federal Act on Stock Exchanges and Securities Trading (SESTA), Banque Cantonale Vaudoise, Place St-François 14, 1003 Lausanne, informed us that, as a consequence of the maturity of Eurex, the sale positions (positions held in the trading book) on shares of Swiss Life Holding have fallen below 5%. Currently Banque Cantonale Vaudoise holds a total of 1 324 113 sale positions (619 387 short calls and 704 726 long puts on shares of Swiss Life Holding). The percentage of voting rights from the underlying shares corresponds to 3.92% of the voting rights of Swiss Life Holding.

Additionally Banque Cantonale Vaudoise holds a total of
787 443 purchase positions (281 280 registered shares of Swiss Life Holding as well as 127 318 long calls and 378 845 short puts on shares of Swiss Life Holding), corresponding to 2.33% of the voting rights of Swiss Life Holding.

The date of the acquisition or sale which resulted in holdings reaching, exceeding or falling below the threshold is
21 December 2007.
