Prof. Michael Koller is leaving the company after eleven successful years in which he rose to the Corporate Executive Board as Chief Actuary and Chief Risk Officer. Michael Koller wishes to take up a new challenge in the insurance and financial services sector, in order to actively engage himself with emerging developments in the industry.
The Swiss Life Board of Directors and Corporate Executive Board would like to thank Michael Koller for his great contribution to designing a systematic structure for the management of technical insurance risks and putting this system in place. With his outstanding know-how he played a substantial role in the successful realignment of the enterprise.

The departure of Michael Koller will occasion a streamlining of the Corporate Executive Board. Group Compliance and Regulatory Affairs will now report directly to Chief Executive Officer Rolf Dörig. Chief Financial Officer Bruno Pfister will now be responsible for all the other units which fell within Michael Koller's remit. Prof. Hans-Jürgen Wolter, Head of Group Risk Management since 1 March 2004, will take over the functions of Chief Risk Officer. Actuarial responsibility for the Swiss business will be in the hands of René Ruchti, Chief Actuary, Swiss Market, who has been at Swiss Life since 1978.
