Luxembourg is set to become a more significant location for Swiss Life. Key functions in four business areas will be based there in the future: retirement planning for wealthy international private clients, employee benefit solutions for large corporations and multinationals, a product platform for variable annuity insurance, and activities relating to the fund business.
Swiss Life is intensifying cooperation between its two companies in Liechtenstein and Luxembourg in the area of retirement planning for wealthy international private clients and will become a leading provider of solutions in this segment. The product portfolio comprises customised concepts for private placement life insurance and combines individual asset management with attractive retirement planning.
Swiss Life is increasingly providing large corporations and multinationals with employee benefit solutions from its Luxembourg location. As a result, the Swiss Life Network is expanding its leading position as a provider of global employee benefit solutions for international companies. Furthermore, Swiss Life is creating a product platform in Luxembourg for variable annuity insurance products which will be distributed in various European countries.
And finally, Luxembourg is poised to become the main fund domicile for the Swiss Life Group.

Personnel changes
As a result of this new orientation, business will be carried out on a more international level across organisational lines. In this connection, Patrick Schols, the CEO of Swiss Life in Luxembourg, has decided to leave Swiss Life and to assume a new professional challenge outside the organisation. Bruno Pfister, CEO International of Swiss Life: “I very much regret this decision and would like to thank Patrick Schols for his many years of service to Swiss Life. He was a crucial driver in positioning Swiss Life in Luxembourg as a leading provider of group insurance and structured pension products.”
