To celebrate its 20th year in Luxembourg, Swiss Life chose to invite four young Luxembourg photographers to express their craft by exploring the theme of life. This creative challenge proposed by Swiss Life gave rise to an exhibition entitled About Life - the ages of the life, which is on display from May 13 to June 25 2006 at the Musée d’Histoire de la Ville de Luxembourg.
"Rather than just adhering to typical and traditional birthday celebrations, we chose to give an opportunity to four young artists from the national scene to be inspired by a common thread, to develop a set of themes all pertaining in some way to our core activity: life", explains Patrick Schols, Chief Executive Officer of Swiss Life in Luxembourg.

Conceived so as to occur between the period of the 20th birthday of Swiss Life in Luxembourg and the 150th birthday of the Swiss Life Group, the exhibition was coordinated by Christian Mosar, independent art critic. The show assembles new productions by the young Luxembourg photographers Jeanine Unsen, Natacha Wagner, Veronique Kolber and Patrick Galbats.

The project took nearly one year of collaboration between Swiss Life in Luxembourg and the Millenium agency. In addition to the exhibition itself, a souvenir catalogue was edited which contains the 42 photographs which were produced especially for this occasion: "The originality of the photographers’ works, all based on a subject as universal as it is difficult to approach, and the coherence of the whole in spite of the individuality of the contributions, continue to delight us, and reassure us that we were right to have left the beaten path. To choose this method of patronage, and to be able to invite the public to enjoy the relevance of these promising artists, through the exhibition and the catalogue, is our way of thanking all those who, for 20 years, have learned to have confidence in us. We wanted the celebration of our twentieth year of presence in Luxembourg to be singular and innovative, because we believe it reflects back on the way we operate within our company", says Patrick Schols.

Swiss Life was established in Luxembourg a little more than 20 years ago to distribute and manage group insurance contracts on the local market. Today, local group insurance remains a strategic activity for the company, and Swiss Life in Luxembourg has acquired an undeniable expertise, with moreover an excellent knowledge of the legal, social and tax contexts. For several years, Swiss Life has been the company with the highest premium income in this sector in the Grand Duchy. However, while remaining specialised in life insurance, Swiss Life has extended its activities on the one hand to group insurance solutions for multinationals having specific coverage needs for their expatriates, on the other hand to unit-linked individual insurance products for European high net worth individuals (assurfinance) in particular on the Belgian, Italian, French and German markets.

Organised while shrouded with the greatest secrecy, in close cooperation with the Musée d’Histoire de la Ville de Luxembourg, the exhibition, « About Life - The ages of life », was previewed by partners of the company on Thursday 11 May 2006, in the presence of Rolf Dörig, Group Chief Executive Officer, Bruno Pfister, Chief Executive Officer International of the Swiss Life Group, and Victor Rod, Director of the Commissariat aux Assurances.

The exhibition will be on display until 25 June 2006 at the Musée d’Histoire de la Ville de Luxembourg.
