Galicia Seguros Client Event on Benefits and Compensation
Galicia Seguros ran a highly successful meeting on compensation and benefits at the Swiss-Argentinian Chamber of Commerce on May 20, which was attended by 50 international
and local HR managers. Daniel Dubach, Swiss Life Sales Director for Latin America,
presented an overviewof current global challenges and trends, and the financial impact of aging on countries in Latin America. Healso described the Swiss Life Network and our solutions.
This was followed by talks by two representatives from Towers Watson Argentina, who focused on employee benefits as a strategy to attract new talent and retain high-performing
employees. This excellent joint effort by Galicia Seguros and the Swiss Life Network was highly appreciated by the corporate attendees, and created a foundation for long-term tie
with international and local corporations.
Insurers Climb Kilimanjaro for Charity
Colin Fitzgerald, Director of National Accounts at Swiss Life Network Partner Unum in the UK, was recently one of 37 insurers who made it to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro
on a trek to raise funds for charity. With the summit at 5,895 meters or 19,300 feet (the Everest base camp is 17,500 feet), the expedition took seven days and 56 miles of walking in temperatures from 90°C to -15°C. The group climbed about 12,000 feet, and while everyone
suffered some altitude sickness, fortunately only one of the team was hospitalised.
According to Colin Fitzgerald, “this is without doubt the most exhilarating and gruelling challenge I have taken part in. I am particularly delighted that all my team succeeded.”
