Global reach and cooperation were very much in the spotlight at the Employee Benefits Conference held in September in Paris. Organised jointly by the Swiss Life Network and Swiss Life (France), the event provided information on the latest local and international solutions available.
Once again, the Swiss Life Network Employee Benefits Conference proved an excellent and very pleasant opportunity for international networking and as a source of expert information about the latest trends in employee benefits and solutions.

Charles Relecom, CEO of Swiss Life (France), welcomed the 40 participants to the event, held at the headquarters of Swiss Life (France). Margrit Schmid, Head of the Swiss Life Network, then introduced the topic “leadership”. She described the Swiss Life Network’s ambition not only to remain the leading global employee benefits network, but also to support multinational companies to remain leaders in their fields, through providing the quality employee benefit solutions that are a crucial success factor for employers.

Thomas Lienert, Head of Sales at the Swiss Life Network, outlined the global solutions the Network offers to global companies. Tanguy Polet, CEO of Swiss Life (Luxembourg), explained Swiss Life’s comprehensive expatriate solutions offered out of Luxembourg and France for the health portion, and the new European pension solutions Swiss Life offers via an IORP vehicle in Luxembourg.

Jean-Pierre Grimaud, Chairman of Swiss Life Asset Management (France), and Henri Laurent, General Manager of Swiss Life Prévoyance et Santé (France), discussed current developments in the French market, in particular the latest developments in health insurance, where Swiss Life is very successful.

The trends and challenges for employee benefits in Asia and Latin America were outlined by the Swiss Life Network’s regional VPs for these areas: Cedric Luah and Daniel Dubach. Sandeep Shrikhande, Senior Vice-President and Head of Group Insurance at Kotak Mahindra Old Mutual Life, India, and Marcelo Assunção, Regional Sales Director of Icatu Hartford, Brazil, described the latest trends on the Indian and Brazilian markets.

The conference closed with agreement on the need for multinationals to use providers with the expertise, innovation, and “active management” abilities to provide global solutions.
