With the exception of group disability insurance, which must be combined with either group life or retirement cover, all modules are free-standing.

Swiss Life Expat Select for Swiss-based companies with mobile employees worldwide offers the five modules as mentioned above. Retirement, death and disability are covered within a Swiss Flex Invest* pension arrangement between the Swiss-based multinational and Swiss Life International Pension Fund a.s.b.l.* in Luxemburg (IORP). Swiss Life Expat Select not only covers multinational companies based in EU/EEA countries, but is also fully compliant for Swiss-based companies. Whether the mobile employees involved are subject to Swiss social security or not, Swiss Life Expat Select has the right solution. In every case, the employer is free to select the modules that best meet its needs.

TWO SOLUTIONS FOR SWISS-BASED MULTINATIONALS
1. Solution for Swiss-based companies with mobile employees on international assignment outside Switzerland who ARE NOT subject* to Swiss social security

Swiss Life Expat Select for Swiss-based companies with mobile employees worldwide offers the five modules as mentioned above. Retirement, death and disability are covered within a Swiss Flex Invest* pension arrangement between the Swiss-based multinational and Swiss Life International Pension Fund a.s.b.l.* in Luxemburg (IORP). The health and assistance modules are covered by a Sanitas Private International* health plan between the Swiss-based multinational and Sanitas in Switzerland.

2. Solution for Swiss-based companies with mobile employees on international assignment outside Switzerland who ARE subject* to Swiss social security

In this solution, the minimum compulsory occupational benefits (retirement, death and disability) are covered in a BVG minimum arrangement* between the Swiss-based company and Swiss Life Ltd. in Switzerland. The portion of the pension plan exceeding the compulsory BVG minimum is then covered within a Swiss Flex Invest* arrangement between the Swiss-based client and Swiss Life International Pension Fund a.s.b.l* in Luxemburg. In the Swiss Flex Invest arrangement, only retirement can be covered or complemented by death and disability cover.

For health and assistance cover, Swiss-based companies need a fully compliant KVG/LAMal solution to cover their mobile employees on international assignment outside Switzerland. The Sanitas Royal* plan, which combines compulsory basic health insurance (LAMal/KVG) with
supplementary worldwide private cover for in-patient and out-patient benefits, is the ideal solution.
