Network Partner Zwitserleven has become the first life insurer in the Netherlands to be SAS70 certified through the granting of a certificate to its corporate clients department.
SAS70 is an internationally-recognized standard for the audit of internal controlling measures. The certificate assures Zwitserleven’s clients that they will receive a service level that meets high quality standards.

The standard is based on the guidelines of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). The SAS70 report is important for service providers to companies subject to the US Sarbanes-Oxley Act. This act requires listed American companies to use effective monitoring measures and processes. Farming out activities to third parties does not relieve a company of its responsibilities, which is why there is growing demand for independent audits of service levels.

PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) extensively inspected the reliability of the SAS70 report, which documents Zwitserleven’s internal controlling measures in detail. Together with the report PwC issued an audit certificate covering the existence and sufficiency of internal controlling measures in connection with Zwitserleven’s major corporate clients.

Ties Tiessen, CFO of Zwitserleven noted: “Zwitserleven is the pension provider for many nationally and internationally oriented companies on the Dutch market for large corporate clients. The simple fact that we are the first life insurer in the Netherlands with the SAS70 certificate proves the high quality of our service level.”
