The private banking and asset management activities of Banque Privée Fideuram Wargny will be transferred from VIEL & Cie to SwissLife Banque with effect on 31 August 2007. At the same time, VIEL & Cie will assume a 40% interest in SwissLife Banque's capital. These transactions followed VIEL & Cie’s announcement on 12 July that it had purchased the business of Banque Privée Fideuram Wargny in partnership with the Swiss Life France group. This represents a new stage in the implementation of the "Private Insurer" strategy pursued by Swiss Life in France, aimed at offering a full range of asset management services by establishing a close link between insurance, banking and financial capabilities.
